In the North East of Germany, in the rural region around Ludwigslust, Amadeu Antonio Foundation explores these questions and possible responses in the project "Lola für Ludwigslust". A focus of the work is on empowering women and girls as actors for democracy. Activities include briefing members of state parliament on their approach to neo-Nazi women in their parliaments, training of educators to work with children who are being brought up in neo-Nazi families, organizing political salons and supporting local initiatives that challenge gender stereotypes and encourage girls and women to become leaders in pro-democracy work in the region.
