TIM PARRY JOHNATHAN BALL PEACE FOUNDATION

About

The Tim Parry Johnathan Ball Peace Foundation (registered charity no. 1048990), was established by the parents of 12-year-old Tim Parry and supported by the parents of three-year-old Johnathan Ball. Tim and Johnathan were tragically killed in the Irish Republican Army (IRA) bombing of Warrington on 20th March 1993, as part of the IRA’s campaign to force Britain to withdraw from Northern Ireland. Tim’s parents, Colin and Wendy Parry, set up the organisation to foster peaceful alternatives to violence. Drawing on over twenty years of practical experience in conflict resolution and peacebuilding, our work seeks to prevent violence before it starts; to help communities resolve tension and conflict through dialogue and collective action to deal with issues without recourse to violence; and respond and help those who have been directly affected by violence, terrorism and war to cope and recover and, and in many cases, to become active peacebuilders and agents for change. Our work ‘for peace’ is always be focused on ending the violence which prolongs conflict and creating the conditions necessary for peace to develop and become secure.
